how do i get the hose of a dyson off. ?

how do i remove the hose of a dyson dc01 from the wand .
i have removed the hose from the cleaner but cannot get the wand off the hose

pull the hose assembly all the way to the end of the solid pole and press the button on the end the hose will then slide off
