Power Steering 1978 Ford Transit?

I have a 1978 Transit with an Isuzu 3.6 Litre Diesel engine. The steering is very heavy.

Is there a conversion available to make it power steering, for instance will the power steering box from a later model fit it?

Steering boxes were used right up to 1991 on the LWB vans but they are very rare and hard to come by, your best bet is to increase your front tyre pressures.
