a friend of mine gave me a thinkpad 600 with windows 2000 installed on it ...there was a log in password that was unknown so i proceeded to install xp...i got codes 173,192,163....i changed the little battery and continued on....well it was going ok and then while copying files for install it started saying file couldn't be copied...well i have a couple of windows installation disks and have had to copy a file or two that way b-4 but next i get a blue screen and laptop shuts off....can anybody help me , PLEASE.

I had similar and it was the disc - another disc solved the problem.
I didn't get error codes though just blue screen.
Might be worth getting a hold of another disc.
