I have a old Sony Trinitron color TV. The problem is, the colors are all messed up like someone's messed with the color setting. My TV looks a multi-color target board now. I don't know if it's a tube failure or if something shorted in the TV. If it doesn't make sense to repair it, I'd like to know.

Hi, I have an old sony trinitron XBR. It plays black and white only, though the menus are in color. I tried cable input and the dvd through svideo.Problem with the tube? Thanks

Jack, it may just be that the screen needs de-gaussing. Strong magnectic influences can cause the colour guns to become mis alligned. Make sure that the TV isn't positioned close to unscreened magnetic influences.
A TV repair shop would be your best option.
