Electrolux Model EL5010; S/N 03430422 - no suction?

I've cleaned the air filter, checked hoses for blockages and changed the belt and have the same result - no suction. Someone mentioned to me that there may be a reset button if the system has been overloaded.

Is this correct and if so, could you suggest to me where I might locate it.

Many thanks.

Also check to make sure the suction adjustment valve on the hose is completely closed. There is a little knurled screw adjustment on the underside of the pistol grip by the powerhead contacts and similarly situated on a nonelectric hose Rule of "thumb:" Lefty Loosey, Rightie Tightie.

Is there suction from the accessory hose itself?
If you are having trouble with the floor nozzle not picking up, the internal hose has broken away from its mounting, located in the motor compartment. Look closely where the hose slides into the lower part of the machine, you will probably see the hose kind of just laying in there and not meeting up with the accessory hose like it should. Repairing it will require removing the base assembly from the unit, removing the motor cover and motor, and replacing the internal hose assembly.
