How do I fix my VCR? Everytime I put a tape in, it automatically ejects it?

Zenith VF4206HF

My VCR did the same thing and it was because my one year old had put the end of a door stop into it. I discovered this by putting my fingers in where the tape goes and feeling around. I think the presence of the door stop end kept the tape from inserting far enough to engage. Once I removed the foriegn object, tapes stayed in and played without problem.

As Daniel said, check for obstruction of reel tables & loading down gear.

Also, the cassette will be ejected if there are no timing pulses from the cylinder head, ie. due to no rotation. So, check that the video head cylinder spins on inserting cassette.

take the case off ur vcr and check to see if the round thingy is catching the inside of the tape (it should do this) the tape might not be getting pushed down enough for the wheel to catch
