how can I fix my RCA television?

My RCA GUIDE plus+ when I press the on button it makes a sound like its going to turn on but it does not. it makes the sound four times and then stops. I'm not sure if there is a wire crossed or what I've had it for only two years. Is it fixable and if so can I do it myself or do I have to have someone come to my house?

Don't know the brand but sounds like it tries to start and detects a short circuit and shuts down as described while the process then repeats. This is a common symptom of most t.v's with a possible shorted line flyback transformer and/or transistor and requires investigation within the line output stage. Unless you are familiar with such circuitry I would contact a dealer for service due to voltages associated with the transformer of 25000 volts.
