Dyson: iPod cable wrapped around brush bar?

My dyson has just sucked up an iPod cable and it's now wrapped firmly around the brush bar. I can't see how to unwrap it or how to dismantle the casing of the brush bar; the screws are star shaped and a philips screwdriver gets no purchase on them. Please help, my house is dirty!
