While driving My renault scenic 2002 1.9tdi on a motorway, was in the fastlane when i suddenly realised my foot was to the floor and i was loosing speed, on changing down i still couldn't accelerate and ended up in a layby waiting for the RAC. The car would start to begin but wouldnt rev in gear and now will not start at all just burns alot of fuel, and smokes- RAC thought it was contaminated fuel. but it isn't -Think it may be the Turbo - any help greatfully recieved.

I had the same problem in France with the same car just 2003 plate. I took it to a Renault Garage over there and they tied to explain what was wrong but I had very little French and they had very little English but they connected it to a diagnostic computer and the problem was a simple part change that had become blocked. I know it doesn't really answer your question but if you get a diagnostic the whole process including labour was ablout £200 - not a huge amount to get your car working again.
