peugeot 206 cabriolet 2002 speedo?

My speedo is inaccurate. Showing approx 20 miles under the speed I am doing. Diagnostic shows nothing wrong with the speedo. People have suggested speedo cable or Body Control Unit. Anyone any ideas. Peugeot want over £500 just to look at it.

Sometimes the needle can come loose on the spindle. I'd check that first.
