landrover discovery 1996 tdi?

can anyone tell me how big a job is it to replace the rear brake discs on the discovery ie does the hub have to be dismantled, thanks Rod

Hi Rod,

The wheel hub has to be removed to change the brake disc as it is bolted to the hub assembly. It would also be a good idea to change (or at least check) the wheel bearings at the same time.

For a competent mechanic it shouldn't be a big job by following a Haynes manual carefully, just remember to change brake components in axle sets as uneven braking may occur.

regards, Mark
