I have a whirlpol electric dryer model LER4624BQ1, and it is not starting?

I have a whirlpol electric dryer model LER4624BQ1, it just quit working. When I press the push down start knob, it does not start at all. There is no noise or sound of any sort. How can I find out if the start switch, or the switch behind the front lid is bad?

Thanks

Hello JP,

You were absolutely correct. The problem was with the thermal fuse as you suggested.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello,

You can test the start and door switch for continuity with a ohm meter. If those check out ok, check the thermal fuse at the exhaust behind the rear panel. If this fuse is bad it will cause a dead dryer.
