how can i retrieve my windows professional xp without the application disk?

I accidently erased something and now my ibm thinkpad 2647. It says i may have to re-install the winsrv application, but i dont have any of my back up disks. Is there anything else i can try?

A missing winsrv.dll file can prevent you from booting your PC. Windows XP may show the dreaded "blue screen of death" to inform you of the missing file. This file is a required system file for your Windows XP operating system to work correctly. The file may be missing due to a virus, program installation, program removal or recent Windows XP updates.
You could try to get to the recovery console and copying winsrv.dll file to \windows\system32 folder.
Try to copy this file froma working XP machine.
