I'm not getting anything from the output to the tv but a blue screen. I've changed cables. no difference. My dvd player to the tv works.

I have experiened this before on a Sony SLV-E250. Change the input. Not the cables, the cables were fine. (Note: If you use it as a video copier, as in connecting it up to a TV/VCR or another Video Recorder, you may get a horrible constent droning noise and flickering white lines on a black screen which I do not know how to repair until you play a tape or possibly record.
