Westwood 1600 Gear Box Oil query?

I have recently put fresh gear box oil into the gear box oil reservoir on the Westwood 1600 (Located under the seat|)
The reservoir is now empty and the machine has only been used for about 3-4 hours.
The outer covering of the gear box is covered in oil so I assume I have a leak.
As it’s in such an awkward place, can you give me some advice as to how to approach the problem please?

You can keep topping up, problem is the mess ( oil on the grass will kill it ) if the oil is getting on the belt this will start to slip, if air gets into the system it will cause cavitation and the unit will over heat, guess what i am saying is it needs looking at sooner than later, it may be a simple repair, but could be made worse by waiting

Hi Husqvarna man
Thanks for the reply.
Does this mean a trip to the repair man then? Or can I get away with feeding it oil until the grass cutting season is over ;-)

It realy depends on where the oil is leaking from, it could be a seal, or a leak between the case halfs, it is also important not to over fill the resevoir as this is also an expansion tank.
