'' File integrity violated " error is basically a symptom of a computer infected by TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen2 virus. Ideally, the virus replicates and attacks the computer file system and in-essence corrupts the file integrity in terms of memory allocation. This usually occurs during a 'cut' or 'copy' exercise making a Cyclic Redundancy Check 2 generate a difference in tally between the source and destination files. Luckily, there are a number of open source or proprietory tools available to handle this situation. Notable tools include :Norton removal tool and malwarebytes.

: When i copy and paste i get a warning "file integrity violated "and cannot copy the folder ...

why making fun of a question, i almost have the same error when trying to simply paste a copied file from a drive to another or folder to another. I don't think as you mentioned a software which in this case is the operating system itself Windows XP would attempt to misinterpret the paste action into destroying a file.

Post another question with a little more detail and you may get a sensible replay.

The computer is telling you that you - or a software induced action - is attempting to change a file and in doing so it would destroy (violate the integrity) of the target file.

You are trying to put a pair of socks into an underwear drawer - not permitted.
