i have a vauxhall combo 2001 1700d van but cant get any gears selected especially reverse gear but all other gears are all over the place,and gear stick is all floppy when in a gear.and when trying to select 1st gear it goes into 3rd.but when drivin for a little all gears seem to come back,then untill i park and try and revers here we go again,i cant select any correct gear.

Look at back of g/box from the top, there is a plastic selector rod connecting two ball joints,these are bad for wearing and popping off the ball,quick fix is to press on a new plastic rod,maybe have to go to vauxhall for a rod good luck
