Whirlpool AWO/D 4705 washing machine stuck on wash and gets hot?

My Whirlpool AWO/D 4705 is getting stuck and won;t progress past the "wash" part of the cycle to "rinse" on it's own and just keeps "Washing" getting hotter and hotter
