thankyou for your help how do i check if the silencers on my exhaust have gone please rover 400 414 v reg.

have to get under motor,remember and use axle stands,give the silencers a thump and a shake and listen for rattling or something loose floating about,check for leaks along the exhaust system,look for black carbon deposits
