this is an odd one the car will happly go though the gears but when you change down from 4th to 3rd i get a small grinding sound, its only on 3rd gear, could it be the clutch on its way out?
selectors worn or cogs worn in gear box but more than likely its selectors good luck

sounds like the 3rd gear syncromesh ring is worn.Reqs a gearbox strip and rebuild unfortunately. Best i can do as noises can be difficult to diagonse when iiyou can hear them. Hope this helps.

could be, but could also be internal gear part failing, Good Luck.
