JVC TV, has sound, but picture is only one horizontal line of light?

I have an JVC, #AB-27720, the picture went out. First it would go out to just a horizontal line, then it would come back to full picture. After a while, it went to just a horizontal line of light, no picture at all, sound is fine. Is it worth fixing or do I just need to throw it out? My husband can follow electronic instructions if we just knew what to do.

Thanks!

yes it is either a bad cap or ic parts should be under $20.00 or just bad joints around cap the problem is in the vertical circuts
