We just bought a 2000 sony triniton, and when we hooked it up, we get no pi?

We just bought a sony triniton 2000. When we hooked up the tv, we get no picture at all. There is a red light on the tv called a stand by timer. We don't know what that means. Please help.

count the number of of blinks the red light blinks , it should be between 1 & 7 times, then pause & biling the pattern again. The # of bilnks indicate an error code to a technician.
