I very carefully removed 4 injectors (siemens type), from an 05 plate 1.4 Fiesta tdi. I numbered them to each cylinder, and cleaned out the bore holes in the cylinder head to fit new seals. I reasembled all parts and the engine ran okay. I road tested it but it was down on power, badly! Everyone I've spoken to say renew the injectors but I feel I could be about to do the wrong thing?????

did you clean tips of injectors,-if so you may have damaged/blocked the very small holes in the tips. i assume you have checked for leaks etc and turbo hose is on and secure as is any wiring or sensors that you may have disconnected! [just another point-you didnt let anything drop down onto timing belt that could have got between teeth on belt and caused it to jump a tooth when started.]
