My TV continuously changes its channel without us doing anything. I tried using the remote control but it doesn't help at all.

I installed a remote control fan in a house that went on and off at odd hours it turned out that a neighbor had the same fan and when they turned their fan off or on the fan I installed would go on. I changed the code in the fan an it was fixed. I think tv remotes require line of site to work so who knows.
