Alternator stator cover really stuck on?

Is it possible to ease the stator cover off (sk50-qt2) without a pulling tool????

like crispy says dont do it !!!if you ry and get it off by battering it you will just cause yourself more hassle a new tool is only about a tenner.it should be a 21mm left hand theaded one.
