wirelessly enable Toshiba Equium?

Hi there, could anyone please tell me what i would need to buy to wirelessly enable a Toshiba Equium EA60-155 laptop(old i kno but still works perfect). It must be capable as there is a wireless icon symbol light on the front of the laptop (not lit obviously) & a blanked off wireless switch on the side. Do i need a wireless card or ???? My dad did give me a Siemens Gigaset 108 wireless adaptor he used to use with his old desktop before buying a laptop & even though it did all install fine i couldnt seem to connect to my BT home hub with it. Hope someone can help, dont really want to replace a perfectly good laptop with a new one just to be wireless. Many thanks,Nib.

If the switch is blanked off you do not have WiFi on the PC.

I'd install the adapter give by Pa.
