Volvo s40 jumpstarted with cables reversed?

I made the mistake of my life today when I hooked backwards or in reverse the cables of the jumper to my 2004 volvo s40, cheked all the fuses but they all seem to be ok, tried the cables the correct way but it just wont start, what can I do?
