How do I get the top cover off of my Creda TCR2 tumble dryer?

I am trying to replace the power switch on my Creda TCR2 tumble Dryer but the lid does not want to move after taking the rear screws out

have you tried sliding the lid back or forward say a couple of inches then lift up at front, try this really slowly.
