My Recorder is about One year old, and has been working perfectly until last week. I place a disc on the tray and press close. It closes OK and " Loading " shows on the screen. Loading then disappears and the disc tray opens immediately.
Have tried several discs that I have been using , and also tried a brand new disc. all for the same result. I have gone through the " Initial Set Up " process twice, but the problem still exists. I reconnected it and reset, No results.

I have just read that EU law now requires a two year guarantee period so take it back. At least the EU is useful for something!

If this unit is only a year old and is already faulty, it shouldn't be your problem. Even if it's over a year old, and so just out of warranty, clearly you can expect more than a year's efficient use from your purchase. Take it up with the retailer you bought it from, under the Sale of Goods Act. It's his responsibility to sort out the problem. You'll probably be fobbed off, but don't take no for an answer - the law is on your side!
