peugot loses power after yellow light comes on ?

I have just bought a 03 plate peugot tdi 2 litre engine and after about 25 miles at 70 mph on a motorway a yellow light comes on,i lose power to the point where it can hardly get up a slip road.whats wrong and can i fix it myself?
