does it start cold? engine warning can be a consequence of continual cranking, sounds more like a fuel pressure problem. have fuel filters been changed recently, lift pump on fuel sediment filter on fuel tank can draw air bypass this and then try starting failing that fuel leak back test is probably best next step.hope this helps
