TRC /VSC warning lights on dash?

Hi,
I own a toyota Avensis T3 Hatchback 56 plate, recently Iv noticed when I turn the engine to start its iluminated by all warning lights, which basically usually go off when the engine has turned and is started. Two lights still stay on that one is the traction Control TRC on the left hand side, and the other is on the right hand side and says, VSC. The car seems to be fine driving - the brakes and disks are relativly still o.k but would probably need the front pads changing in another month or so - seem to be slightly noisier than before but is due a service now. I usually do a mini service every 5000 miles, which would be air filter, oil filter, oil- may do the fuel filter this time too. Any suggestions as to what these lights are and what they mean. Before the car would normally start, and I could press the TRC button, which would ulliminate it on dash - now when the light is on, it won't be turned off at the button
