i have just baught a hn125-8 and the lights are not working neither is the ?

i have just baught a hn125-8 and the lights are not working neither is the electric start i was wondering what could be rong.

if i ride the bike with the headlights off the indecators work and the gear indicator, but with them on the lights done work at all

Old, poorly maintained or discharged battery, charging cicuit fault, poor earth, corroded or dirty/loose battery leads..could be other things but try those 1st.
