Kia Sedona 05 2.8 LX CDI what is it telling me?

The hand brake light and the Battery light stay on the dash board when in normal driving mode(manual gearbox). I have looked at the disk pads where there are no electric wear sensors only the audible sensors. Is it a alternator problem or something else?
