zanussi td 260 tumble drier not heating?

The tumble dryer tumbles but it does not heat. If the heater element is still OK are there fuses to check ? I believe some dryers use two voltages, one for tumble and one for heating. I have looked but have seen no internal fuses but perhaps they are difficult to find. The main power light illuminates but very weakly. The cool tumble light illuminates at full brightness. The main power light can not be interchanged with the cool tumble light as the former has a non changeable bulb. Perhaps the control electronics have failed. Perhaps there are some simple checks I can make with my voltmeter. Many thanks

Hi prior to my previous post. The tumble dryer got warm for a bit and then suddenly went cold again. what the devil is wrong with it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[I know that this question is many years old but am adding an answer for the benefit of others!]

If the machine is tumbling, then it is to do with the heating element. If you remove the back panel of the machine (having isolated the supply obviously!), you will see the heating elements, with a couple of (fire? smoke?) sensors above it. Behind one of the sensors is a small red reset button. If you press this, it should click and reset the heating element.

possibly the thermal cut-out,take the heating element off and look on the back of it,should be a couple of thermostats on there, one has a red button on the back of it,press it and you'll feel it click if it's tripped out, if that's the culprit check the fan's going round, your filter isn't blocked and your vent hose isn't kinked or blocked
