when I pulled the cord it started but the cord did not retract so I can't restart it now.I guess it's a spring problem.It's a weed eater xt200 featherlite

Hi There, I simply got some 3-in-1 oil and dropped several drops in the string hole. I then took an old "clothes hanger", and pushed in the hole, causing the spin wheel inside to turn, thus re-curling the string back in. Now, that hanger stays beside the weedeater. :) Tip, don't yank "all the way" out when starting and this problem can usually be prevented.
