how do i set the tension on a drive belt on zanussi condenser dryer TC481W?

i have repllaced the belt but the tension is too slack how do i tighten this, ie position of the spring as this looks wrong

pull the motor over to the left as far as it will go so there is loads of tension on the spring.now fit the belt around the motor shaft and drum.let go of the motor and tension will be applied
