My speedo is inoperative?

After starting my vehicle and driving my speedo has stopped working with no indication that it was about to fail.

Apologies i assumed i was on a site dedicated to rectifying faults on rover 25 vehicles only.

Vehicle: Rover 25

Type: 2.0 Turbo Diesel

Year of manufacture: 2000

Failure description: Speedo worked perfectly previous evening and failed after starting up and driving next morning.
