misfire in cylinder 1 what could be causing this?

well ive taken my vauxhall astra 1.6 sxi 52 plate to get it checked out its misfiring in cylinder 1 i have had the coil pack changed 3 times yet still have not found the problem i was told it might be the ecu but im not too sure. when driving in first gear it jerks the car dont pull like it used to the engine management light flashes when doing 30-40 mph its not picking up speed and its burning alot of fuel

Have you done a cylinder compression test if so how do cylinders compare. Might be a valve problem

Thanks for that, yh Chris ive connected the computer up it said misfire in cylinder 1 then multiple misfire suspect was the coil pack changed that 3 times so it wasn't that because I still got the problem it cant be the lumbar sensor cuz it would have misfired in all cylinders I was told I need a new ecu but thats costing me alot so I have to be certain its that before I go changing it could it be anything else ive noticed in cold weather im not havin any problem with it but in the heat I get the problem but the engines not over heating

i,d check the plug leads and plugs . it could also be a sensor, have you had it plugged in to a code reader yet ?
