Gene, I just had to repair the switch on my Diplomat 1677. The key is the side bumper rails. Open the front where bag is located. Peel back and off the blue rubber bumpers on both sides. The white rails then slide forward, which releases the 2 half shells (Top & Bottom). 2 screws hold the switch asm onto the top cover. I had to replace the plastic rocker, as it was broken. Watch where the spring goes, as you'll need to put it back on for the rocker to operator correctly .Good luck
