peugeot boxer 2.2 hdi turbo not working?

is there anything i should be checking before i condem the turbo, also now & again the engine management light comes on & engine goes into limp home mode, but stop engine & it will eventually start again.

Hi Jeff, i just came across your question and it seems i have the exact same problem. curious how it was resolved for u. For some time now my 2006, 244, 2,2HDI Boxer Van has stopped suddenly, randomly, or when stepping on the gas to pass someone, so often in unfortunate situations, like pulling a trailer through 20 km long norwegian fjordland tunnel, haha, so far i managed, never realizing hwat the issue was, suspected an air leak into some fuel line, because i had that actually b4 on this car and fixing the leak stopped the stopping problem. So now sometimes the motor just dies and the engine management light comes on , sometimes the light goes on and the motor just sucks into limp mode. a restart will reset until the next time. Now the vehicle has an added loss of power and exhaust gases come via the ventilation, up through engine bay into the cab, so something is definitely amiss now. and i suspect the turbo has perhaps given up. best regards from the Åland Islands of Finland, RObert

have the engine management read if the turbo is up the shoot it should have a fault code relating to the turbo normally P0299. Does the vehicle have a lack of power when driving it a good indication of turbo.

check intercooler hoses for splits/leaks,remove inlet to turbo and feel for play in impeller
