i have the same problem. the external power supply is working fine i have an output of 12 volts which brings me to the conclusion of the fault bieng inside the unit.
there are no dry joints evident and nothhing looks burnt out. im scratching my head on this one.

Definatlely sounding like a power issue . If your moniter has an external power supply you may look for an internal fuse of around 3.15 amp in here that has blown . Be careful to disconnect from the mains before you go into the casing. The other type of moniter has an internal Power supply and it too has an internal fuse that can blow of around 3.15 amp. I am in the process of trying to fix a DEL 18" Ultra View that had a problem with the PSU built into the moniter. It was however not the fuse as the unit contsantly blew the internal fuse suggesting a further faukt that i am fault finding at present.

I repeat Take care when opening up equipment to ensure it is not connected to the mains as you are looking at the power lines which have 240v live circuits in them that can cause fits or damage / death to you if touched with no Recidual ground device (RCD) on your fuse box .

one of the first things would be to make sure all the cables are in correctly. This sounds (no pun) like it's a power issue - is the power led on? If not, perhaps you could try a different PSU - i don't know if this model has an internal or external PSU.

If it has an internal PSU, you probably can't replace it - look for fuses that may have blown.

Sometimes, even if the LCD works, the backlight can fail - see if you can see any images on the screen - a good test would be to use it with a laptop & play something with high contrast.

If it is just the backlight that's broken, you might be able sell it on ebay - there's a demand for LCDs broken in *this* way.
