how to repair my tv?

I have a sanyo model ds25390 . When I turn it on a small line appears across the screen. I can hear the program and the line seems to be trying to expand to show a full picture but it doesn't. what is my problem.

We have an RCA big screen tv and the picture comes up but it looks like it is being pulled from the top and bottom towards the middle
