I have a goodmans gtv69rfdt tv and it is stuck on standby. Can this be mended, if so how?

Yes, I have tried with the channel buttons on the front of the Tv to switch it on, also unplugged Tv and left it off overnight.

It can be mended, BUT
Have you only tried with remote, try direct on unit if not done. other wise, could be problem with power supply pcb
