How to adjust a 2005 corsa handbrake?

I have a 2005 corsa life and the handbrake is almost vertical before it bites. I bought it second hand and it has only done 5200 miles. Could anyone advise me how to rectify the problem.

Better late than never but you take the cover off from around the handbrake the fake leather trim. Then release the handbreak and tighten the nut you can see that stands with a thread that just needs tightening just to the side of the handbrake.

Answered it myself! Remove the cover under the hand brake and tighten the the nut up on the bar until the handbrake is adjusted to your liking. 5 mins max
