2004 renault espace 2.0 petrol clutch problem?

my clutch goes down all the way and stays there it seems to hang until i pull it back up with my shoe and then its fine but how warmer or longer i drive how more the problem seems to happen . When it stays down the biting piont is very close and it stalls if not enough power is given, any advice anyone.

sounds like the clutch pedal assembly is on its way out. these systems consist of a master cylinder, slave cylinder and hydraulic hose and are a sealed unit. You can buy a replacement on ebay for about £250 easy to replace once you have removed the the dash board to access the top of the clutch pedal where the master cylinder is located (big job). the fulcrum lever on the side of the gear box where the slave cylinder rod engages siezes up and causes the premature failure of the clutch pedal. RENAULT will want £1000 to do it. good luck
