further to my previous question the battery has a test feature which lights up showing how much charge is in the battery and it still shows 100% power so i think we can discount the battery being at fault,i should also add that the fault started during a thunderstorm and has not worked since so any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

If you took a lightning strike down the telephone line or cable to your computer, it is probably toast and will need replacement.
