Anti pollution followed by catalytic con fault?

I have a peugeot 307 1.6 petrol 54 plate, if i go over 70 mph the car goes into limp safe mode, followed by the anti Pollution fault then the cat fault, I have also notice a slight burning smell through the blowers and my power steering seems to be effected also....so far I have changed my plugs and my coil pack and as recommened I have used bp fuel and injector cleaners....any ideas please as i have a 300 mile trip to make and im very nervous....please help

Check the alternator output, it may be over-charging.

Hi, its currently on 60k with good history, i have no noises and all flexy pipes seem to be in good order.

this seems to be a very common problem with the pug 307, thanks for your reply i'll have another look over it tonight, fingers crossed.

Mileage? Service history? Any hissing noises from under the bonnet near the top of the engine, e.g. cracking or leaking black plastic flexy pipe? They get brittle and crack with age and could cause those sort of symptoms.

If so, replace the flexy pipe with a brand new one. Not expensive.
