how to fix tv/vcr after taking apart tv to remove stuck tape ?

My daughter's boyfriend took apart GE tv/vcr to remove stuck vhs tape. But now tv won't work. Turn on tv and after about 30 seconds, tv turns off. What could be wrong with it?
