my corsa d cuts out?

hi there i`v got a corsa d 1.2 16v life on a 58 and some times when i`m on stop it will rev up and down and then cut out the engine management light does not come on do u know wot i can do to fix it thanks

quite probably a poor connection the ect connector or the ect itself-common problem.
